Steve "Air" McNair

Terrible news on July 4 as Steve McNair and an unidentified women were found shot to death in downtown Nashville. McNair was a co MVP winner in 2003, sharing the award with Peyton Manning. He will be missed by many NFL players and fans like myself. Our thoughts and prays go out to his family and children. Here are some comments by some fellow NFL players taken from yahoo sports.

Manning said in a statement Sunday that he had some great battles with the quarterback.

“Sharing the NFL MVP honor with him in 2003 was special because of what a great football player he was,” Manning said. “I had the opportunity to play in a couple of Pro Bowls with him, and the time spent with him in Hawaii I’ll never forget. I’ll truly miss him.”

The Titans drafted Vince Young(notes) in 2006 to replace McNair, who had mentored him since he was a teenager. They never played together but did play against each other that year.

“He was like a father to me. I hear his advice in my head with everything I do. Life will be very different without him,” Young said in a statement Sunday.

Top 10 ugliest NFL players

After a near cardiac arrest one morning after clicking on marshawn Lynch's profile in my fantasy league, I came to realize there are some downright fugly players in the NFL. I compiled a top 10 list of the filthiest looking faces in the NFL, (to stay on topic) but there are some terrible looking people outside the NFL no doubt (mike ricci). Enjoy and please be prepared.

10) Antrel Rolle.... What is going on with that nose?

9) Peyton Manning... Thank god he's a star QB and is making big money.

8) Eli Manning... NO!

7)Jeff Faine.... Pudgy, and kind of scary.

6)Tim Dobbins... like Rolle that nose has got to go.

5)Dexter Coakley...not in the league anymore but this picture cannot be forgotten. Great player though.

4)Paul Mcquistan... Here you go, I'm sorry.

3)Pat Mcquistan..."To catch a predator" mug shot.

2)Troy Polamalu...Are you kidding me!?!? This beard is worse then that fungus on his head. Osama knows what to do with bad hair.

1)Marshaun Lynch.... is there really any argument here?

NFL Fantasy Files

NFL fantasy file clips.

Chris Cooley, Marques Colston, Neil Rackers, Jason Campbell, Braylon Edwards, Chris Chambers, Laurence Maroney, Mason Crosby, Chris Simms, Andre Johnson, Mike Nugent, Marc Bulger and David Akers. They didn't do a great job with Colston's, looks pretty fake but still crazy. The Redskins have my vote; Cooley and Campbell's are insane....but i would never draft either of them. Maroney's is also worth a look.

Top 5 - QB Rankings

1. Tom Brady
Brady is back, healthy, and still has all of his receiving options he had in 07. There's no reason to downgrade Brady because of last season's injury. You can easily expect 30+ touchdown passes, with a good 15+ going to Randy Moss.

2. Drew Brees
Brees is simply a yardage monster. He's accumulated 4400+ yards in his past 3 seasons including last year's unheard of 5069 yards. Amazingly he totaled that many yards and not ONE of his receivers topped 1000 yards. Look for Brees to continue spreading the ball around again with all his receiving options, especially now that Colston is back and healthy. Another 5000 yard season wouldn't be impossible, but I can surely see him throwing for over 4400 yards again.

3. Kurt Warner
Warner will have another huge season this year no doubt about it. With in my opinion the top duo receiving corpse in the league, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, theres no need to tell you how great the passing game will be as you've witnessed the past 2 years. If Boldin can stay healthy for the full season, Warner will do better than last year guaranteed.

4. Peyton Manning
Manning is a top 5 Qb every year simply because of one reason: Consistency. You can pretty much bank on a 4000 yard season, and 27+ touchdowns. Manning's already pretty much adapted to life without Marvin Harrison since Harrison has been virtually unknown his past 2 seasons so his departure shouldn't be be a factor to Manning.

5. Aaron Rodgers
It was pretty tight between Rodgers and Phillip Rivers but Rodgers takes the advantage for a couple of reasons. After coming off 3 years of solid bench warming for Brett Favre, Rodgers came out and threw 4038 yards and 28 touchdowns in his first year as a starter. He also has great receiving options in Donald Driver and Greg Jennings. Jennings, who just signed a big contract extension with the Packers, knows that he has to shine this season to prove his worth-and Rodgers will help him do that.

Top NFL sleepers/busts 2010

Every year there are those few late round round picks, or free agent pick ups that make you seem like some fantasy guru; although you had no idea who this guy was and needed to fill an RB spot because you keep drafting Willis McGahee for some frightening reason. Yes every year McGahee addicts are scrounging free agents for the newest bronco running back or if they have some dignity left they try and find a replacement that will start for more then three weeks. This is why you prepare yourself with some good sleepers that can very well win you the league; or at least some respect. Here are my picks for top sleepers at each position.

QB- Matt Ryan: break out season last year and will only continue to improve. Solid #2.

WR- Donnie Avery: has the speed, hands and the potential for a huge season if Bulger can keep it together.

RB- Derrick Ward, Reggie Bush

TE- Kellen Winslow: Tampa finally has a top TE and I think he'll be a big part of the offense.

K: Nobody cares.

Def- Dallas: Demarcus Ware.....enough said.

There are so many sleepers and busts every year, lets hear what you got. I have a draft coming up in the next few weeks so some more sleepers can help, or busts to stay away from. (any Raider at every position)
